The Lord Of The Rings
This thread is to discuss all three Lord Of The Rings movies; Fellowship of the Ring, Two Towers and The Return of the King.
I saw the first Lord of the Rings movie last weekend and I must say, it was pretty good. The next day, I watched the sequel. It's been a week now, and I'm just about to watch the thrid movie. Just thought I'd make this thread to discuss the series
Re: The Lord Of The Rings
Bleh I hated this series. I'm just saying, there are quite a few plot holes and it's way too long. Some of the scenes were unnecessary, or turn it into six movies. I just lost interest after a while.

I thought they were great (books = better though). Plot holes don't matter. It was written to have symbolism, not to tell a fantasy story. Its based very much off of WWII. Symbolisms what you should be looking for, not plot holes.
I saw Return of the King in theaters when it came out. That was epic. I have the DVD trilogy, but Return of the King broke in my DVD player, and the DVD player broke itself...So I haven't seen it in a long time.
I wish The Hobbit was made into an actual movie. Its a bit more childish, but its just as good as the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

I get the whole symbolism, but I couldn't get through it. It just wasn't entertaining. Same with the books. The books were a little more bareable though. I did like the movies when something did actually happen, like the battles and when the hobbits get captured, but the long boring parts just killed my like for the movie/books.

I had to watch the Director's Cut for all of the movies because we had a movie marathon. That's hard work. Lol

Re: The Lord Of The Rings
I just finished watching the last movie.
Wow. Loved it. So much.
I didn't pick up on any symbolism or plot holes. Care to expalin any of that?
Also, what happened to Frodo's finger after it was bitten off?

Frodo's finger went into the pits of the volcano.

I forget the plot-holes, but there are a few of them. If you didn't notice any, then theres no point worrying about it.Antari wrote:I just finished watching the last movie.

As for symbolism, its about WWII; Sauron = Hitler, Mordor = Nazi Germany. Theres some other stuff that I'm forgetting. I did a report on it for school.
