The Raven (1845)
The Raven, by Edgar Allan Poe is a poem created in January of 1845.
The poem is about a talking raven who visits a man reading "Forgotten Lore". The man asks for the raven's name, to which the raven replies "Nevermore", which is the only thing it can say.
Some of you may remember an old Simpson's TreeHouse of Horror episode (The first one, actually) where they act out this poem.
